Building Your Door
Building your own door is done with an interactive program that simplifies the entire process. With the dimensions of your garage on hand, you can choose from preset designs or make something entirely unique. Once you’ve finalized the design, the manufacturer will get to work making your door to spec. Once it’s been built, it’ll be shipped straight to Alliance Garage and Gates. We’ll take the door to your home or business and install it ourselves. See our inclusive guide below to familiarize yourself with the design process.
Customization Options
There’s a high level of customization options for your door. See variable categories below:
Material Type
Steel
Steel garage doors offer outstanding durability and require minimal upkeep, but can be susceptible to dents and scratches.
Aluminum
Aluminum garage doors are lightweight and resistant to rust, but may dent more easily and have limited insulation options.
Wood
Wooden garage doors provide a classic look and can be customized to fit any style, but may require more maintenance and are susceptible to rot and weather damage over time.
Model & Panel
Door Model
Door Models is the foundation of a custom door, offering a range of variable options for materials, colors, insulation, and hardware.
Panel Design
Panel Design provides a variety of options for the outward-facing style of the garage door panels, allowing for unique customization and visual appeal with different patterns, shapes, and sizes.
Decorative Hardware
Homeowners can add a personalized touch to the overall look of their garage door with decorative hardware options, including hinges, handles, and clavos, which provide an extensive range of styles and finishes to choose from that complement the accents of their home.
Color & Quality
Some custom garage doors can be painted or stained to complement the color scheme of a home, while others are crafted from materials with a distinctive texture or finish, offering a unique touch to the property's exterior. A good question to ask when choosing material is whether or not you plan to paint your door in the future?
Insulation
Polystyrene
Polystyrene insulation is a cost-effective option for custom garage doors, offering excellent thermal insulation properties, although it may be less durable and provide less noise reduction compared to other insulation types.
Polyurethane
Polyurethane insulation is a premium option for custom garage doors, providing superior insulation, increased durability, and noise reduction benefits, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking optimal performance from their garage door.
Windows
Window Design
When designing a custom garage door, homeowners can choose from a range of options for windows, including style, size, and position, to complement the overall look of their home's exterior.
Glass Type
The glass type is an important consideration when designing a custom garage door, with options ranging from clear to frosted, and other finishes, which can impact light transmission, privacy, and security.
